UIF Submission

The aim of the UIF Act is to provide for compensation for short-term relief to workers when they become unemployed or are unable to work because of maternity, adoption and parental leave, or illness. It also provides relief to the dependants of a deceased contributor.

An employer must register for UIF with the Commissioner within seven days after the day on which he employs his first employee. Once registered an employer must submit UIF Returns every month. Failure to submit the UIF returns is against the law and penalties will be charged.
