Step 1: Sign Up and get connected.

Once you have signed up and securely connect your all your accounts, we’ll introduce you to your dedicated bookkeeper, accountant and tax specialist. They’ll get to know your business, and show you how SMTAX works.

Step 2: We do your bookkeeping in real-time.

Each month, your bookkeeper organises your business transactions and prepares financial statements. If they need anything from you, they’ll get in touch. Plus get a snapshot view of all your money-in and money-out, whenever you need it, even before your books are closed.

Step 3: We deliver tax ready-ready financials

Feel supported in your small business taxes. At tax time, we send your tax reports along with everything you need to file your VAT, Payroll or Income Tax returns. Or, let us do it for you with our standard or Premium plan.

Need historical bookkeeping?

We pair you with expert bookkeepers to get your books up-to-date. Need more than two years of historical bookkeeping? Our team can work with you to get caught up and creating an SARS payment plan (if applicable).

Tax Clearance PIN

In order to register on the central supplier database your must get a valid tax clearance certificate or PIN

Income Tax Return

Your company must file a SARS annual income tax return once a year within 12 months after year end. 

Provisional Tax Return

Your company must file a SARS provisional income tax return twice a year, 28 February and 31 August.

Financial Statements

Your company must prepare annual financial statements within 6 months after the financial year end.

How does the process work?

  1. All you have to do is CLICK any button that says “Sign Up” or "Get Quote". 
  2. You’ll a get short form to fill in. It’s nothing intrusive - It’s just so we can get to know you better e.g. name & contact details    
  3. You will receive a courtesy call from one our accountants to review your applications, answer any questions you may have as well as send you a custom proposal of our services for your further consideration.
  4. Once you have accepted our custom proposal, your first monthly invoice will be issued to you for payment and your dedicated accountant will reach out to you to book your Business Support Onboarding Meeting, including any other specialists required in servicing you e.g. certified business adviser or tax, payroll, and compliance specialist(s).
  5. That’s all you have to do.

Can I get refund if I'm not happy with the service?

If you are not happy with the service, you can cancel anytime and we'll refund your money.

How do I access the SMTAX Community?

As soon as your sign up for any of our service, you will automatically be added to our community.

Why should I use SMTAX instead of Doing it Myself?
